STANDING COMMITTEES & AUTHORIZED COUNCILS

  1.  
    The Standing Committees will be formed by majority vote of the Executive Group. The President upon nomination of the committee members will present their choice for chairperson to the Executive Group for majority approval. The chairperson will obtain members as needed to full fill their obligation. At the start of each new term, the newly elected President may add or delete committees with a majority vote of the Executive Group.
            (a)  Public Relations Committee is responsible for publicity about the Association and its involvement in special projects and events. This committee will act closely with the Special Events/Entertainment committee. Recognition of the special accomplishments, awards, honors, and contributions of IDMTs shall be the responsibility of this committee.
            (b)  Special Events/Entertainment Committee is to serve as a focal point within the Association for functions originating from the members of the Association.
 
    2.  Special Committees will be formed as the need arises to carry out specific tasks, upon completion of the task these committees will automatically disband.
            (a)  Any member of the Association may motion to create a Special Committee.
            (b)   Implementation requires two-thirds vote of Executive Group or general membership, and the President will nominate the committee’s candidate for Chairperson to the Executive Group.
 
    4.  Each Committee shall hold meetings at such times and places as may be specified, after due notice to its members by the appointing authority.
 
    5.  Each Committee shall keep a record of its proceedings, which shall be reviewed by the President and Executive Group of the Association, briefed to general membership, and maintained on file.
 
    6.  Any member of a Committee may be removed from office by the Chairman of the Committee with the consent of the appointing authority, or by the written request of two-thirds (2/3) of the Committee members.
 
    7.  Each Committee shall be charged with the duties assigned to it by the Constitution and Bylaws and the Operations and Procedures Manual of the Association, and shall perform such other duties as are usually incident to committees or councils of its particular denomination.
 
    8.  The Chairman of any Committee may make application to the Executive Group for appropriation of funds for the work of such Committee. No Committee shall have authority to incur any indebtedness or pecuniary obligation for which the Association shall be responsible except to the extent previously authorized by the Association.
