NAME & PURPOSE
- The name of this organization shall be the Independent Duty Medical Technician (IDMT)
Association, hereafter referred to as the "Association".
- The Association has been founded to increase the military and public awareness of the
IDMT both in the USAF and our sister services (USCG, USN, and USA). Increase the
"Esprit de Corps" by way of service, social, and career oriented activities for
those enlisted medical personnel who have been awarded the special experience identifier
(SEI) 496. Plan and direct fundraising campaigns as required for operations. Expend funds
through service, donations, and functions. To increase the professional development of
IDMTs. Promote maximum exposure of IDMTs to the Department of Defense. This will include
two-way communication with leaders, speakers, and instructional exposure. Act as a focal
point in the exchange of ideas and information among IDMTs. Provide opportunities to IDMTs
to develop organizational and communication skills by being involved in planning and
organizing special events and Association activities. Make recommendations to appropriate
agencies to help modify and improve practices and directives that influence the IDMTs job,
career attitude and development. Enhance the military image by initiating and
participating in community programs and activities.
